We’re currently looking for passionate, enthusiastic, dedicated people to join our current team of 150+ External Moderators.

Although we’ve recently carried out our recruitment for the 2008-2009 session, we’re still on the look out for External Moderators to cover the qualifications and geographical areas listed below, with a view to starting with us over the next 12 months.

Sport/Fitness/Exercise Studies – South West
Event Stewards – South West
Performance Skills – North East
Uniformed Services – North East
Counselling – London, South East
Drugs Awareness - London, South East
Creative Craft - London, South East

We’re also looking for External Moderators for Functional Skills now we’re moving into the 2nd year of the pilot. You’d be expected to cover all 3 Functional Skills - English, Maths and ICT. For further guidance on the sort of experience and background we’re looking for, please see the Functional Skills standards.


To be considered you must have the following qualifications or experience;

Essential

  • Hold or be working towards a recognised teaching qualification

  • Have current or recent teaching or work experience in relevant sector within the last 2 – 3 years

  • Hold a related qualification in the relevant subject area that is at least a level above the qualification being moderated/verified

  • Understanding of effective quality assurance mechanisms

  • Willingness/Ability to travel extensively where required Able to commit a minimum of 10 days per academic year


Desirable

  • Hold D units or A & V units

  • Experience of assessment and/or moderation
