New minimum entry age statement

At NCFE we’re always trying to make things easier for our centres and learners. This is why we’re changing the way we describe the minimum entry age for some of our qualifications.

Qualifications that were previously labelled as being suitable for learners aged 13+, 14+ or 16+ will now all be covered by the overarching statement ‘pre-16’.

We haven’t made any changes to the qualifications, it simply means that you can now register learners younger than 16 onto these qualifications without checking with us first.

You’re responsible for making sure that:

• qualifications are appropriate for the age and ability of your learners
•  learners can fulfil the requirements of the assessment criteria
• learners can comply with the relevant literacy, numeracy and Health and Safety aspects of the qualification.
