NCFE also offers accreditation services, which provide a rigorous quality assurance system for programmes which are unique to the submitting organisation. Such programmes may be used to meet the training needs of local employers as well as the particular needs of groups of learners.
There are two routes to accreditation:
This service is for organisations that are keen to gain external accreditation for learning programmes they have devised and which are not covered by existing NCFE qualifications.
Customised awards enable both organisations and learners to benefit from the quality assurance and external accreditation offered by a national awarding body. They can be used for both industry-driven and community-focused learning needs.
Customised Awards are suitable for offering as full cost recovery programmes but may be eligible for LSC funding* (Please note that each Local Learning and Skills Council (LLSC) will have different priorities for funding programmes under ‘Other Provision’. Please contact your LLSC for more information).

Where organisations intend to develop in excess of three customised awards it may be more cost-effective to apply for NCFE’s Investing in Quality Licence. The Investing in Quality Licence allows organisations to develop, deliver and evaluate an unlimited number of unique learning programmes for their specific target groups. Centres licensed through Investing in Quality are given additional support through the allocation of a Quality Advisor
