A hugely successful learning programme made up of NCFE qualifications is being used by New College Durham to help their travel and tourism students gain employment.
The Travel Industry Skills (TIS) programme has been created by packaging a range of our most popular leisure, travel and tourism qualifications together.
Since its launch at the College in 2006, 86% of learners have successfully achieved the range of qualifications on offer.
Mo Dixon, Head of the School for Sport, Tourism and Public Services at the College, said: “The popularity and success of the programme stems from the way that it’s delivered.
“We’ve selected a range of NCFE qualifications that we feel give students the opportunity to gain real skills which employers need. We feel the NCFE qualifications we’ve packaged together are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the travel industry.”
The TIS programme allows learners to study a broad range of NCFE’s leisure, travel and tourism qualifications including the Level 2 Certificate for Airline Cabin Crew, Level 2 Certificate for Resort Representatives and Level 1 Certificate in Travel.
