Qualifications Update
The NCFE Level 2 Award in safegurading Children and Young People This qualification is aimed at individuals who work in any environment where there is direct contact with children. This includes youth workers, care workers, local authority staff, school support staff and voluntary workers.
The qualification will enable learners to understand what is meant by safeguarding and the different ways in which children and young people can be harmed including by other children and through the internet.
The qualification aims to develop the skills and knowledge needed to safeguard the welfare of children and young people

Qualifications in Development
The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Developing Skills for Working with Children and Young People
This qualification has an accreditation end date of 31 August 2008. We’re working with Skills for Care and Development to extend this date, and aim to have this updated qualification available for September. A draft Qualification Specification will be available soon – watch this space for updates!
The Level 2 Certificate for Developing Skills for Early Years Practice is also due to be renewed in August 2008. We’re working with Skills for Care and Development to extend this date, and should have more information by the end of May.
